Marquita Rawlins Muhammad
I have been teaching and employed with DeSoto ISD since 2005 as a Math and Science teacher. I currently teach Kinder through 5th grade Computer Science & Coding at Katherine Johnson Technology Magnet Academy where I also serve as mentor for Science teachers. I also oversee various STEM-related clubs on campus, including: Science Club, Innovators Club, Garden Club, and Coding Club on a rotating basis. During these activities under my leadership, students participate in various science-related community events including: Earth Day, Reptile Expos, STEM conventions, etc. My participation in the TGC program is to experience and share teaching methodologies from another culture that will be incorporated in the classroom. I also wish to develop life-long relationships to establish a global classroom that will produce global students.
I am married with two adult children and two granddaughters. I also have a rabbit, three cats, a dog, and 16 chickens running around the house. As you can see I LOVE animals! I enjoy crafty hobbies and admiring nature during my spare time.
